Learning Assistant - DGA13346 with Dumfries and Galloway Council is a people-focused role involving work to job Description Learning Assistant (7/09688) (Fixed Term) Primary Inclusion Team – St Teresas £19,039.45 - £20,216.90 An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Fixed Term Learning Assistant based within Dumfries Learning Town Cluster, working within Primary Inclusion Team, will work in different schools within the mid and upper Nithsdale areas.

Responsibilities: The advert points to the post holder will help them take part in lessons, encourage independence (even with personal care), support them in learning new skills, and help them make friends, Most importantly, the post holder will help make sure they feel safe, happy, and ready to learn, support children and young people with additional support needs to help them to overcome barriers to their learning and be able to reach their full potential either in Learning Centres or mainstream classes, and work within other settings for the duration of this appointment, with emphasis on safe, respectful support.

Requirements: Suitable applicants may bring standard Grade General, National 4) or equivalent, including Numeracy and Literacy or equivalent and experience of working with children and/or young people and Experience of working with children/young people with additional support needs, would be advantageous.

Employment details: A willingness to undertake training will be required, as part of induction and professional development programmes These posts are considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
