Community Sport Coordinator, West Lothian Civic Centre, 505.71 - WEL10496 with West Lothian Council in partnership with sportscotland is a people-focused role involving work to appoint a Community Sport Coordinator on a Fixed Term basis to 31st March 2027 with potential to extend.

Responsibilities: The advert points to work with clubs, hubs and sporting organisations, to maximise inclusive sport opportunities and develop Community Sport Clubs across West Lothian, The Community Sport Coordinator will: Support the development of CSHs and clubs through a range of services including: Club Accreditation; Funding Support; Education and Training, ensure impact is accurately recorded and effective and informed planning takes place, and help strengthen the sporting landscape and support clubs with volunteer recruitment and retention, with emphasis on safe, respectful support.

Requirements: Suitable applicants may bring responsibility for identified budgetary management ensuring that any expenditure is appropriate, within allocated budget limits at all times, that accurate financial records are maintained and that the Council’s Standing Orders, Procurement and Financial Regulations are adhered to; Essential Educated to degree level, GTCS registered, or equivalent relevant workplace experience, Clearly demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the aims of sportscotland programmes including Community Sport Hubs, Experience of engaging communities through sport and physical activity in either education, sport, health, youth work, community learning and development, leisure and/or recreation industries or third sector organisations, and Proven project management experience including impact gathering.

Employment details: The Community Sport Coordinator will: Support the development of CSHs and clubs through a range of services including: Club Accreditation; Funding Support; Education and Training and Have a flexible approach to the working week including evening and weekend work as and when required; Undertake appropriate and continued professional development; Increase opportunities available to help equal access to sport particularly including those experiencing barriers to participation.
