Learning Assistant - DGA13459 | Dumfries and Galloway Council | myjobscotland with Dumfries and Galloway Council is a people-focused role involving work to job Description Learning Assistant (Fixed Term) Dumfries High School Cluster £19,039.45 - £20,216.90 An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Learning Assistant based within the Dumfries High School Cluster, working within Lochrbriggs Primary for 27.5 hours per week over 39 weeks per year.

Responsibilities: The advert points to work within other settings for the duration of this appointment, The post holder will help them take part in lessons, encourage independence (even with personal care), support them in learning new skills, and help them make friends, Most importantly, the post holder will help make sure they feel safe, happy, and ready to learn, and support children and young people with additional support needs to help them to overcome barriers to their learning and be able to reach their full potential either in Learning Centres or mainstream classes, with emphasis on safe, respectful support.

Requirements: Suitable applicants may bring standard Grade General, National 4) or equivalent, including Numeracy and Literacy or equivalent and experience of working with children and/or young people and Experience of working with children/young people with additional support needs, would be advantageous.
