Learning Assistant - DGA13476 with Dumfries and Galloway Council in lessons is a people-focused role involving work to job Description Learning Assistant (Fixed Term) Loreburn Primary School will be required to work 16.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year – up to August 2027 £11,423.67 - £12.130.14 An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Learning Assistant within Dumfries Learning Town and based within Loreburn Primary School.

Responsibilities: The advert points to work within other settings for the duration of this appointment, The post holder will help them take part in lessons, encourage independence (even with personal care), support them in learning new skills, and help them make friends, Most importantly, the post holder will help make sure they feel safe, happy, and ready to learn, and support children and young people with additional support needs to help them to overcome barriers to their learning and be able to reach their full potential either in Learning Centres or mainstream classes, with emphasis on safe, respectful support.

Requirements: Suitable applicants may bring standard Grade General, National 4) or equivalent, including Numeracy and Literacy or equivalent and experience of working with children and/or young people and Experience of working with children/young people with additional support needs, would be advantageous.
