Responsibilities: The advert points to appoint two sustainability champions to lead the development of our Libraries as Green Library Hubs, The successful candidates will lead the development and delivery of a range of sustainability projects across all our branch and mobile libraries, maximise impact, and support and develop Gaelic-language resources, activities and engagement, with emphasis on safe, respectful support.

Requirements: Suitable applicants may bring two enthusiastic and experienced people with knowledge or experience of sustainability, climate action or environmental projects, The successful candidates will be proactive, innovative and community-focused, with the ability to build effective partnerships, engage a wide range of stakeholders, and inspire others to contribute towards a more sustainable future for islands, must be educated to Highers level or equivalent level of experience, have experience of working with a range of IT programmes and software with experience of working in environmental, climate or sustainability fields, and A comprehensive understanding of sustainability, climate and environmental issues is essential.

Employment details: Advert Senior Library Assistants, Green Library Hub (2 Posts) 12 hours per week, fixed term from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2028 £9,975 - £10,357 per annum, inclusive of £972 Distant Islands Allowance per annum Post 1 - Based at Stornoway or Tarbert Libraries Post 2 - Based at Lionacleit or Castlebay Libraries The Library Service is seeking to appoint two sustainability champions to lead the development of Libraries as Green Library Hubs and The successful candidates will lead the development and delivery of a range of sustainability projects across all branch and mobile libraries.
