Responsibilities: The advert points to radically change the way in which Social Work delivers support and services, adults with learning disabilities across Glasgow, ensuring their rights, safety, independence, and wellbeing, The postholder will work within Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP) and the statutory framework governing Scottish social work, including the Self directed Support (Scotland) Act 2013 and wider disability policy aimed at promoting equality, autonomy and full citizenship for disabled people across Scotland, and secure these outcomes, with emphasis on safe, respectful support.

Requirements: Suitable applicants may bring qualified Social Workers who are committed to making a real difference to people’s lives within Adult Services, have sound knowledge of assessment and care management; have practiced extensively under the relevant legislation; and work in a person centred manner which will be fully embedded in your practice, be confident in managing risk and looking for innovative ways to promote independence and link people into the local community, and Mental Health Officer qualification is desirable but not essential.
