Job DescriptionBased within the central AIS Team you will work full time, 35 hours per week or part time, 14 hours per week. Please indicate your preference on application form. If you have any queries regarding this vacancy, please contact Ruth McConnachie at rmcconnachie24@dundeeschools.scotRequirements?You will be GTCS Registered (Primary/Secondary/ASN), have knowledge of relevant curriculum areas and an awareness of main current issues in Scottish education.ResponsibilitiesYou will work as part of a team in building the capacity of staff in nurseries/schools in teaching and learning approaches and providing appropriate support to children and young people (0-18) who have additional support needs (ASN).The IndividualYou will also demonstrate application and knowledge of Curriculum for Excellence and have evidence of appropriate Professional Learning in a range of areas. In addition you will have a positive and caring approach and commitment to young people, have good communication/ interpersonal skills and relate well to others. You will have had success in teaching and knowledge in meeting the learning needs of all pupils including those with a wide range of social and communication needs and barriers to learning. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
