Responsibilities: The advert points to this role is essential in helping us deliver the highest standards of patient care and ensuring our hospital runs smoothly, safely and efficiently, About the Role As a Porter, the post holder will provide vital support across the hospital, including the safe movement of patients, equipment and supplies, and transfer and guide patients safely around the hospital, as required, in a caring, sympathetic and professional manner Move clinical equipment, medical supplies, goods and other items as required Responsible for the safe management of the collection and disposal of waste, both domestic and clinical in line with corporate and hospital policy WM01 Support clinical teams by maintaining a clean, safe and organised environment Respond promptly to portering requests and prioritise tasks effectively Deliver excellent customer service to patients, visitors and colleagues Uphold safety, infection-control and patient-handling standards Report any maintenance issues to the Maintenance department Complete additional portering and facilities tasks to support smooth running of the hospital Who we're looking for: Experience of working in a similar role and delivering frontline customer service Good communication and organisational skills Excellent customer care skills Ability to work without supervision Caring and sympathetic Ability to work evenings, nights and weekends Due to the physical demands of the role, including moving equipment and assisting with patient transport, the post holder will need to be able to perform these essential duties safely Benefits Bank colleagues are paid weekly We offer competitive rates to our bank colleagues who work on a flexible basis, often to cover busy periods, sickness, or annual leave, with emphasis on safe, respectful support.
