Responsibilities: The advert points to aDVERT School Technician Working as a school technician the post holder will assist the teaching staff in the work necessary in the practical and laboratory areas of the Science department as well as occasional Audio Visual duties, Duties include preparing and maintaining laboratory equipment and materials for biology, chemistry, physics, and applied sciences lessons, ensuring experiments run smoothly and safely, The post holder will assist the teaching staff within the Science department and will support the use of teaching resources throughout the school, and all departments within the school as requested by the Head Teacher or nominee, although the post holder will be based within the Science department, with emphasis on safe, respectful support.

Requirements: Suitable applicants may bring it is essential have experience of working in a science department and an awareness of statutory inspection requirements and Health and Safety law, must have effective communication and organisational skills and be able to work on your own initiative whilst under pressure and to tight deadlines, Education to HNC level or equivalent experience and Health and Safety qualifications are desirable as is experience of working in a busy science department, and Evidence of ability to follow safe working procedures and experience of handling chemicals is also essential.
